Inexpensive & Fun Craft for Kids
My weekend consisted of painting and gluing. And it was so fun! We painted unfinished wood projects and glued embellishments onto them, making fun table decorations for the holiday season. Here is how you can do this too:
First, go to your local craft store when there is a sale on unfinished wood projects. (It's always better when you can get them on sale right?) AC Moore near me has a sale typically once a month, the unfinished wood projects are 4 for $3. These are cheap enough to buy a few and can provide lots of fun for your kids.
My AC Moore also had the small bottles of acrylic paint on sale - 4/$1.00 - when we went. This is a great buy in my opinion! And we also got 20 small foam brushes for a dollar. So far you have spent $5 and you could be finished. However, we wanted to do one of the displayed craft projects, so we also purchased little wooden figures that we glued on.
A decorated box for Halloween was on display and as you see, we also did one for the fall season and Christmas. We also did a school one, but it missed out on pictures. This is a fun and easy project that can be done in an afternoon. My children enjoyed painting the boxes and waiting for the paint to dry did not take too long, which is always exciting. It's fun for them to see a project all the way though, often times a long wait can be hard to understand and they are impatient for it to be finished. We plan on displaying our craft projects on our kitchen table, in between two candle holders. Now I only need a tablecloth!
